Biography
Known for his insightful lyrics, catchy melodies, and refined guitar playing, Singer/Songwriter Todd Holbein has begun a new chapter in his life. Originally recognized as a member of the regionally acclaimed rock band Empathy, he spent seven years as the lead guitarist and songwriter before the band dismantled. After graduating from The Ohio State University, Holbein took a break from music to pursue a career in education. Several years later, a passion to perform music again has re-emerged. After eventually re-locating to Chicago, he has gone true to his roots and unplugged the amplifiers. Todd is currently recording his first solo CD, Looking Forward, where he draws from life experiences that have helped shape his outlook on life. Recorded in Columbus, OH by long-time friend Jay Alton, Looking Forward crosses several musical paths and can be enjoyed by a diverse audience. Not only did Holbein write all the songs for this album, he produced and recorded virtually every instrument on each track as well. As evident in his songwriting, a maturity in his music and experimentation of a new sound and energy, the journey is only getting started.
