Biography
The Night Hours traffic in dark, mysterious musical waters. Formed by Chicago-based songwriter Sarah Katheryn, the addition of Erika Guenther on Violin and Roxanne White on Cello changed everything. Originally a violinist herself, Sarah found her way back to her roots: string ensembles, classical music, theatre. Songs became darker, richer, and more layered. The sound evolved toward something between a rock band and a chamber ensemble, throwing bits of folk, gypsy, tango, and romanticism in for good measure.
After spending 2011 in the studio, The Night Hours are quite bursting at the seams to share the fruits of their musical labors with the world. Seasoned, skillful performers on many a stage across the country, The Night Hours bring a high energy live show bent on world domination through the most unassuming of weapons: the art song.
