Adam Currie’s decision to become a musician was greatly influenced by his early introduction to legendary bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling stones, and Bruce Springsteen just to name a few.
At a young age, Adam taught himself how to play the guitar by learning his favorite songs. The songs of his favorite Beatle and songwriter, John Lennon, inspired Adam to write his own lyrics and music. He later studied music theory with Charlie Lagond at Lagond Music School in New York.
Adam's sound is a mixture of the Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Dave Mathews all rolled into one. His self titled debut cd “Adam Currie” was released in 2004 and produced his most requested single “Think Of You”. “Think of You” was in Costa Rica’s “Top 5 Most Requested Songs” for 10 weeks in a row. Adam’s follow up cd, “The Weight” was produced by talented musician/producer Seth Glassmen (James Brown, Hall & Oates, Ronnie Spector, Carole king, more).
This talented musician, songwriter and lead singer of “The Adam Currie Band” was voted “Best Unplugged Folk/Acoustic Singer-Songwriter” by Fairfield County Weekly, on his first try in a countrywide folk-rock competition. Adam has received favorable coverage in several newspapers including The Fairfield County Weekly, The Norwalk Hour, The Ridgefield Press and LEA!.
Adam and “The Adam Currie Band” has played at various venues including The Ridgefield Playhouse, The Fairfield Theatre, The Oyster Festival, Rowayton Arts Festival, as well as charities and fundraisers such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Riverkeepers’ 16th Annual Shad Festival in which former tennis pro John McEnroe and actor Adam Baldwin were in attendance.
Adam is currently working on his third album, shooting a music video as well as fulfilling tour dates. You can find Adam's CDs “Adam Currie” , “The Weight” and Adam’s brand new single Something She’s Got on www.Itunes.com, www.Bestbuy.com, www.Rhapsody.com, www.Napster.com, and www.CDbaby.com.
