Biography

The Blood on the Tracks band was an project started in 2007 by Ron Cohler when he realized that he not only loved the music of Bob Dylan, but people told him he could sing just like Bob. He soon enlisted Mark Mickey on bass. Mark is a life long Dylan fan and adds a wealth of Dylan knowledge. Jim Cone was playing with Mark at the time and so was enlisted in the project. After a few notable guitarists helped with a few gigs, George Kolmar joined to form the band that is now Blood on the Tracks, The Bob Dylan set is incredible.

Blood on the Tracks is a premier classic rock band who plays a great set of Bob Dylan material. Taking the name of one of Bob Dylan's most respected and influential albums, the band recreates and enhances some of the greatest and most powerful music ever written.

Unlike bands covering The Beatles or The Doors, a Dylan tribute band has to compete with Bob Dylan himself. The counterculture poet laureate still tours excessively (so much so that fans dubbed this decade-spanning stint of shows "The Never Ending Tour") and continues to release new material. If you're really iching to see the man, you can actually go see the man. Of course, if you're itching to hear straight renditions of songs you know and love, then maybe a tribute band is a fine option. Dylan shifts and contorts his hits with the same frequency that teenage girls change outfits on school mornings. It often takes a while before you realize that Dylan's actually playing "Like a Rolling Stone" and not something else. Blood on the Tracks is a Chicago-based Dylan tribute named after the seminal 1975 album and boasts a lead singer with an uncanny ability to sound appropriately nasally.
