This band of sharp-dressing 20-somethings came together around Ini’s gig as a producer and KPSU radio host. Ini and Michael met first at a session and instantly wanted to play together. They had heard good things about DeAngelo so Ini arranged a meeting. Creative energy was flowing. Michael introduced Taylor who brought in Nick and Cory. Michael suggested Dino. Chemistry created: The Love Loungers.
 
The Love Loungers deliver high energy, crystal clear, sophisticated, grooving, ‘get up and dance’ hiphop.

  It was a sweaty, satisfying set, and outdoors seemed like a good refuge to emotionally decompress un...It was a sweaty, satisfying set, and outdoors seemed like a good refuge to emotionally decompress until confronted by an impromptu show out of the back of a U-Haul. This was not an official part of PDX Pop Now!, but the band was so damn good, you wonder how they could have been overlooked.
  Just past the food carts a huge crowd gathered around a van parked with the drummer inside, the band on the ground and the lead singer wailing on top.
  The Love Loungers blasted through a short, grooving set of hard-hitting, funky soul. The bass was so damn good that I kept looking for the bassist. It was the keyboard. Stevie Wonder would be proud. They deferred to the regularly scheduled outside act, but you could tell both the crowd and the band wanted them to keep going. And the organizers didn’t even shut them down until Blue Cranes were ready to play. All someone asked for was a shout out for the organization.
  And that’s part the magic of a fest like PDX Pop Now!– electro-pop, psych, punk and (impromptu) funk all in a couple hours.
