Biography
The House of Light was formed in 2008 by Australian singer songwriter Justin de Vries (Revolver, Mirrors) with bassist Mark Kinchin (Brokenhead). Several keyboardists and drummers later they have arrived at the their current formation with Lena Wendl (Belle Etage) playing the Korg keyboard and singing harmonies, and Chris Hughes (Nick Cave, Hugo Race) on drums.:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: The band is currently in Berlin recording their first album "Come Into My Night", produced by Martin Fiedler (Alec Empire, Josh Pearson) with mixes by Clif Norrell (Jeff Buckley's "Grace" album, U2, Mars Volta, Pixies) and Gordon Raphael (producer for the Strokes, Regina Spektor). It is expected to be completed in September.:::::::::::::::::::::::::: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Referred to as 'new wave' or 'post-punk' in the German press, the band see themselves more as simply a rock or pop group.
