Biography

ANNIE AUTOMATIC is a colorful lunatic…

She listens to her music loud, and takes her shoes off to dance.

She's the strange little animal inside all of us.

Founded in Los Angeles in 2009 by a "lover and lunatic" named French, ANNIE AUTOMATIC started the ceremonial fire immediately assembling an airtight crew of musicians and friends. Their debut EP, Fighting Chances – was started, finished, and made available within 90 days. French claimed they had "never had so much fun in the studio."

In 2010 ANNIE AUTOMATIC released 3 singles, a mysterious song only given as a free download to hardcore fans, called "K.I.D.," an acoustic version of the prolific track "Something Sacred," and a fun little version of "Over The Rainbow" (featuring Kaley Cuoco) benefiting the Humane Society.

ANNIE AUTOMATIC has officially released their first full-length studio album, Don't Look Down, which is now available for purcahse online. Don't Look Down is a powerful album that showcases the band’s versatility and undeniable passion for creating music. When speaking about this album, French says, We can never lose sight of how amazing it is to even have the chance to do what we Love, whether it ever makes a dollar or not. 'Don't Look Down"'is a record of what we've been through - Life, Love, Passion and Pain - we hope it reaches someone at the heart of their adventure, and can be their soundtrack to something new."

Influenced by everything from The Beatles to Motown and even the thrash of glamorous punks like Iggy Pop, ANNIE AUTOMATIC is about beauty, chaos and freedom. It's about grabbing hold of the moment, and making it count.

Most of all, ANNIE AUTOMATIC strives for artistic honesty, and a level of fun and love that seem to be lacking in today's Alternative Rock‘n’Roll.

  When it comes to making hits with an indie vibe lead singer French and his new project Annie Automat...When it comes to making hits with an indie vibe lead singer French and his new project Annie Automatic excel to say the least. The first song on the album “Nepenthe” is an up beat tune fueled with sweet melody and hooks that could end up on a radio station near you. French’s lyrics never fail to paint a picture for the listener. He sends a message of freedom that’s honest and to the point. The very next song is my personal favorite. “Something Sacred” leaves an undeniable lasting impression that shows the masterfully evident backbone of this band. Anyone can listen to “Something Sacred” and make it there own. Just one listen to this song and you will be mesmerized by the charisma of the front man. “A song for Billy” is an acoustic track that will melt you in your seat. This song is an easy listening track, something nice to help relax your weary mind. The song “Animals” kicks it back up with the bass drum before exploding into a blistering hot chorus that will leave you breathless. The last song on the Fighting Chances E.P. is another fan favorite; “Candy Apple Kisses” will probably be their second single off the album. I got a little bit of an 80’s vibe from the song, but in a good way. This band has some sweet tunes and I look forward to promoting Annie Automatic and watching them grow into something sacred.

Outside the line stretches for a mile with black clad fans waiting to catch the crisp, steaming hot opening band, Annie Automatic. The crowd filters in and photographers flashes are part of the light show as a winged angel, lead singer, French appears on stage.
  Illuminated with a rock n roll rainbow of sound bursting from the stage into the audience, the crowd went wild as the band opened with a powerful, less raw and jagged version of "Animals".
  Despite the sound guy forgetting to tweek the mics and drums properly, the band sounded smoother than ever before. This is only Annie Automatic's third public appearance and they managed to fill the room. No small feat for The Roxy on a rainy Wednesday night.
  Steam rolling through two more tracks off their new CD 'Fighting Chances', the set was tent poled with the slamming single 'Nepenthe'. (Guitarist) Cash and (Bassist) Berg cranked a guitar solo and baseline jam that nailed the crowd to the floor. Cash's departure from bass into the guitar realm highlights his growing talents as a musician. The back up vocalists prove to flesh out French's hearty crooning very nicely throughout the numbers.
  A new number, 'Firefly', showcased solid drums, an amazing guitar riff, and strong sultry vocals.
  French commanded "You better f@ckin dance to this one" as they closed the set with a cover of INXS "Don't change for me". Exploding sound of a fantastic cover well executed emphasized the potential of this band, but an original song ending would have served more memorable. Overall, Annie Automatic raised serious funding for Haiti Earthquake Relief and delivered a fun, electrifying, performance.
