Biography

Singer/Songwriter Frank Macowski was born in the northwest of England in 1972. coming from a musical family, Frank quickly learnt to make a pleasant noise from a variety of instruments and listening to wide range of eclectic music.

Songwriting began for Frank in the various teenage bands he was a member of during the late 80's and early 90's. The bands where full of teenage ideals and lasted little longer than it took to write, rehearse, gig and disband..

After leaving school and trying work, Frank decided to do his up most to avoid a real job for as long as possible, something Frank still does to this day. He decided to turn his hobbies into paying work, so Frank trained and qualified as an instructor in a variety of outdoor sports including climbing and skiing, then proceeded to travel and work literally, all over the place. Spending considerable time throughout Europe and Asia and finally spending some 5 years in Southern Africa. And everywhere that Frank went, his trusty acoustic guitar went too, allowing many musical experiences- from jamming with Xhosa tribes on the beach to playing quite possibly the highest gig of his life in Nepal. Absorbing every new musical style, culture and sounds along the travels, Frank managed to mould a unique style of his own.

On a summers day in 2000, Frank bought a new guitar in Durban, South Africa, it was then that he decided that songwriting was the next career path to take. Spending the next few years relentlessly writing and then gigging the venues and festivals of South Africa and discovering the not very wealthy trade of being the struggling musician. At one point his home for 6 months was a small shed in a friends garden underneath the avocado tree, the tiny space was previously occupied by an Alsatian dog who was quickly evicted on Franks arrival. Something which 'Butch' the Alsatian never forgave Frank for; he has the scars to prove it..

Then with the arrival of a new girlfriend in 2003, and then the sudden arrival of daughter later that year, Frank and family were headed back to the UK. A few years of songwriting, odd jobs, nappy changing, marriage, divorce, hardship, and a few USA tours under his belt it was time for the studio- finally. The result being 'Poor mans lullaby', recorded in Liverpool between late 2007 to early 2009. Forming a new band with a wealth of talent helped shape the album to become something nothing short of an amazing debut album.
