Biography
I am a RECOVERY MUSIC Recording Artist - one of the pioneers of a new & exciting genre of music. I have released a CD entitled "The Gift of Brokenness" . It is my recovery journey - 12 Songs/12 Steps - from darkness into light. See a clip of me on NBC's The TODAY SHOW @ www.lauracmusic.com. All songs autobiographical about my recovery from alcohol/drug addiction. Purpose: To help others through their process - offering strength, encouragement & hope in a new and different format.
I write/sing about everything - from driving in a blackout with my kids in the car - sitting in a meeting and hating everyone in there - to the first day I woke up and felt hopeful. It's all there - raw and honest. This album was my recovery journal.
I worked with 4x Grammy Winning Producer, Randy Miller, and Co-Producer Sandy Stewart (Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac). I wrote all the tracks myself and played all acoustic piano.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A DRUNK TO RELATE TO MY MUSIC - YOU CAN JUST BE GENERALLY SCREWED UP :)...... We're all recovering from something - trying to fill the void.

The Set follows the CD - Takes audience on the journey of Recovery. 12 Songs - 12 Steps in Recovery. Beginning in darkness as LauraC weaves her story of what it was like to be lost in addiction and to begin the recovery process throughout the music. Continuing thru the songs/steps as the light pours in and the tempo and mood lifts and the show ends with hope and encouragement. Show lasts approximately 1 Hour.
