One of the most promising young Danish contemporary jazz pianists and composers, Soren Bebe, is joined in this group by two of Denmark's most distinctive and powerful musicians - drum genius Anders Mogensen and electric-bass master Niels Ryde.
2011 was a busy year for the Soren Bebe Trio, with concerts among other places in Morocco (Jazz au Chellah), USA (SxSW), Brazil (SESC Sao Paulo) and Denmark, including a tour with the American saxplayer Bill McHenry.
Søren Bebe Trio was also featured with their song “Andrea” on the compilation CD “Danish Jazz 2011” released by JazzDanmark to promote the best of Danish jazz to the rest of the world.
2012 will besides touring in Denmark and abroad, bring a new CD release on april 1st on their new label “From Out Here Music”. For this release, the trio has just made a licensing/management deal with the Japanese label “Spice of Life”, a company that has introduced pianists like Lars jansson and Jan Lundgreen to the Japanese audience.
Soren Bebe Trio was founded in 2007 and has released two critically acclaimed albums. The latest "From Out Here" on “Your Favourite Jazz/VME” is from 2010. Here is what one of the critics wrote:
”A near masterpiece from Danish jazz musicians with a real feel for Scandinavian melancholy.... From Out Here is all set to be one of the best Danish jazz albums this year.”
As a pianist and composer, Soren Bebe draws on a wide range of inspirations from american and european jazz, as well as contemporary classical music to rock, pop and folk-music. It all blends in this band, creating the unique Soren Bebe Trio-sound.
Most important though is the energy and concentration and musical virtuosity that the music is played with. Soren Bebe explains:" For me music is about emotions and energy and about communication. In the band as well as to the audience. I like to meet my audience and draw them in to the music, and I've experienced on our concerts that the music really is for everybody, also people not used to listening to jazz. Although the music is complex and does contain a lot of improvisation, at the same time it's very melodic and rhythmically exciting.”
In January 2010 the trio released their second album “From Out Here”. A follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut “Searching” from 2008.

A near masterpiece from Danish jazz musicians with a real feel for Scandinavian melancholy
Though you wouldn’t guess it from the cover, From Out Here is actually one of the most fantastic jazz albums of recent years. It’s a stylish, melancholy and melodic album, created by three young musicians, led by pianist Søren Bebe, backed up by drummer Anders Mogensen and bassist Niels Ryde. What they have produced is simply sublime! Nothing less than a masterpiece! There are three main reasons for this success. 1.The compositions (mainly Bebe’s creation) really hit the mark, at once simple and complex. 2. From a technical point of view, each of the three musicians has a masterful command of his instrument. 3. The interplay between the three musicians is flawless. From Out Here has a wonderful intimate, intense feel. The musicians so obviously know the meaning of the music and capture a tone of Scandinavian melancholy that is deeply moving. Just listen to individual tracks, such as Song For Andrea, Song for Alberte or Homage part 1& 2, and you will understand what I am talking about … From Out Here is all set to be one of the best Danish jazz albums this year.
