Biography
Austin-based singer/songwriter Katie Gosnell weaves her soulful voice and rich lyrics with melodies that hook you and grooves that grab you. Songs penned and delivered with such a unique sensibility and honesty, you will swear that she’s someone you’ve met before, a long time ago. Maybe she is a lot like you.
Smart. Sensual. Witty. Wise. Sweet. Sexy. Katie’s songs may inspire you. Delight you. Make you want to move your feet. Soothe a part of your soul.
Katie’s music is a diverse world of its own, found somewhere on the borders of folk, pop, blues, classic rock, and even country, like many of Katie’s early musical influences. She grew up listening to her parents’ records, spending hours in a rocking chair in the living room, singing along with artists from Waylon Jennings to Janis Joplin to Led Zeppelin.
Over the years, Katie found great inspiration by artists like Patty Griffin, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Beth Nielsen Chapman. To Katie, it’s all about the song. A feeling. Giving a voice to a story.
Katie's path led her to Berklee College of Music and on to Austin in 2006, to plant her musical roots. She pursues her dream of writing great songs and bringing them to our ears.
