Artist Information

Biography

Juliana Murphy was raised with the sounds of Cuban mambos, Joan Baez, and Otis Redding flowing from her parents' hi-fi. Her large family gatherings frequently evolved into choruses of traditional country, gospel, folk, and standards (both in English and Spanish). Though too shy to join in, she soaked in every ounce of her rich musical heritage. A late bloomer, she came to songwriting & performing much later in life. Blending an eclectic mix of folk, pop, latin, gospel, soul, & alt-country influences with a good dose of humor, her songs examine both the darker and lighter sides of life and aim to leave you with a lightness in your heart, a tear in your eye, and a smile on your face.
