Biography

Amerikas Addiction is a hybrid- a melting pot of musical styles. Amerikas Addiction-The ladies men-rugged yet sauve. From jeans to ties and sweet to raunchy. The music is a journey through different genres, sounds and rhythms- not the normal, yet listenable. They pride themselves on not following the trend-aiming to make Amerikas Addiction the new style, timeless and classic.

Amerikas Addiction origins lie in hip-hop/rap music. The members of Amerikas Addiction are also members of the notorious Milwaukee based group "The Black House Gang". The Black House Gang was nominated in 2007 by The WAMI for best rap/hip-hop act. They were also nominated for best rap/hip-hop group in 2010 under the name "Black House Gang" (Amerikas Addiction).

Addiction aka Ebonix was also selected by national publication 'Vibe Magazine' in their "51 Best Myspace Rappers" as the best rapper in Wisconsin. Amerikas Addiction draws influence from rap, hip-hop, rock, dance, alternative, punk, reggae and techno music.

Black House Productions- headed by J-The Truth aka Amerika- is the sound and ambiance behind Amerikas Addiction. Ebonix aka Addiction is the voice and emotion in Amerikas Addiction. Amerikas Addiction is currently in the process of grassroots promotions and organic/word of mouth marketing. Amerikas Addiction is spreading their name person by person, friend by friend, download by download, song by song and performance by performance.

Right now Amerikas Addiction is currently in the process of recording their debut cd entitled "Sex Crazy." In the meantime Amerikas Addiction has decided to release their EP entitled "Foreplay" not only to whet the people's appetites but to build Amerikas Addiction buzz online and offline in the streets, campuses, bars and clubs in the United States and Internationally. "Foreplay" is basically the prelude to the full length "Sex Crazy" giving people just a taste of what Amerikas Addiction is about musically and stylistically.

Amerikas Addiction first love is music and connecting and interacting with the people. "We like to create topics that we feel relate to our music and even our lives" says Amerika. "We want and desire the people to interact with us and share their thoughts, experiences and feelings about the topics we discuss" says Addiction. Their discussion topics include relationships, fashion, gossip and the nightlife. If people like to be entertained along with interaction- they will love Amerikas Addiction.

In addition to all of this, Amerikas Addiction also creates updated fresh and new content to share with the people. Amerikas Addiction produces updated discussion topics, videos, blogs, tweets, status updates, photos and of course new music for the people. They believe in 'content'- in the new age of technology, they feel it is necessary to have content to keep supporters and potential fans entertained.

Amerikas Addiction is actively performing, making appearances, and doing special events, volunteering in the community and other promotions. Amerikas Addiction is also currently trying to raise $10,000 for their upcoming self released and self funded debut cd entitled "Sex Crazy".

They will be doing things such as- "Double date with Double A", "Cooking with Double A", Birthdays and other special events hosting and many other upcoming ways to raise awareness and funding for our debut cd. "Amerikas Addiction is totally independent and self funded" says Addiction. Amerikas Addiction is thinking outside of the box. "We want the people to feel like they are apart of us and to be become lifetime supporters of not only our music but the Amerikas Addiction lifestyle. We need the people's support to keep supplying the people with what you desire the most"!

  1. First off tell the people a little bit about who you are and where you come from? Our name is Am...1. First off tell the people a little bit about who you are and where you come from?
  Our name is Amerikas Addiction. ( Production/Beats is J-The Truth aka Amerika-the light skinned one) (Lyrics and Vocals is Ebonix aka Addiction-the dark skinned one). The names are our alter egos. J-The Truth is the more serious/business minded side and hard hitting rap beats, while Amerika is the fun side, the dance beats, nothing serious, just sounds that make you move. For me, Ebonix is the more lyrical/complex rapper side, while Addiction my more experimental side, Where I go out of the box and just break barriers and go left field.
  
  2. When/How did you know you were gonna make hip hop music?
  We honestly didn’t know. We’ve always liked to express our feelings. Amerika made beats since he was 14. Addiction was introduced to writing and just fell in love with that aspect of expressing himself.
  
  3. What sets you apart from all these other artists out here?
  We take pride in everything we do.(Addiction) We don’t pay much attention to whats going on around us musically.
  
  4. What are your goals for 2010? Beyond?
  (Amerika) Spread Amerikas Addiction like a virus and make Black House Productions a house hold name!
  
  5. What has pushed/motivated you to reach the level you’re at now?
  (Addiction) Honestly, the people around us. We try to always surround ourselves around positive people that constantly push us to the next level.
  
  6. What is it going to take to reach the next level? How do you plan on getting there?
  (Addiction) Staying focused and always try to stay 20 steps of everybody else!
  
  7. What do you contribute to hip-hop culture?
  (Addiction) Passion, Skill (Amerika) Grit, Determination, An appreciation of the history of Hip-Hop, which is seldom seen.
  
  8. Do you have anything in the works the people should be lookin out for?

  12. Are there any other local artists you have or would want to work with?
  (Amerika) Yes, all eager local artist! We are down to rock with anyone from rap to indie rock, to r&b and punk. We don’t care, we refuse to limit ourselves.
  
  13. What other artists really influenced your style/persona? How?
  (Addiction) Thats a tough one- the flamboyance and musical genius of Prince. (Amerika) My brothers and also 2-Pac, Dr. Dre, Black Sabbath, Timbaland, Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, man, there are soooo many I can’t even list.
  
  14. How do you handle all the haters out there?
  (Addiction) Haters are lovers in a sense. They’re obsessed with you and your daily actions. You become a movie they love to hate. (Amerika) How can a movie hate their audience? Basically, we love haters!
  
  15. How do you keep things live within the group?
  (Addiction) We are basically always trying new things. (Amerika) Yeah, right now, we want to experiment and push the envelope. And we are determined to make people take notice and hopefully LOVE US! But if people hate it, we still got love for them.
  
  16. What would u give as advice to anybody lookin to get into hip-hop?
  (Addiction) Well getting involved in music in general. My advice is believe in your craft and don’t follow whats hot. (Amerika).
  I feel like people don’t understand, this music business is first of all a ‘business’. If one is not handling their business, it will fail. But if you have drive and ambition and I don’t mean just for the recording and the creative process, I am talking about going out in the streets and building relationships and moving things online also! You have to build awareness!
  
  17. What are some of your most memorable moments in hip hop history?
  (Addiction) 2-Pac vs Notorious BIG, sadly (Amerika) when I read somewhere in billboard that Hip-Hop was the best selling music genre in the world, I knew hip-hop was where it needed to be.
  
  18. Live performance is an artists lifeline these days. How do you keep a crowd movin?
  (Addiction) I am always moving around and I don’t lip synch! (Amerika) We like to get the crowd involved, people like to interact, we try to bring them out of their shyness and get them to let the soul be free.
  
  19. Any shows in the works you wanna promote quick?
  (Amerika) Yes, there is one. Its with a other local acts, but it is for “Behind The Music Tour”. We are one of the guest performers for the event!   20. Do you have any favorite venues or promoters you like workin with?
  (Amerika) Not really, we never really could get shows because of age…if we get some good venues, we will let you all know!
