Biography
Catfish Mustache combines influences from funk, soul, hip hop, reggae, blues and countless others to form a sound that keeps your ears happy. Master shreds on the guitar, steady rhythmic beats on the drums, funky bass lines and soulful singing complemented by rap verses are sure to keep the listeners interested.
In the summer of 2007, Eric had a show booked at a local club with his former band. Due to a sudden break up of that band, Eric enlisted the help of his two closest friends to play that show, instead of cancelling. In less than a week, Eric, with the help of Brandon on drums and Tania on vocals, put together about five songs to perform at that show. On that night, they became Catfish Mustache and have been playing local venues ever since.
After some failed attempts at finding a bass player, Tania used the skills she had of the guitar to pick up the bass. "It was like I was writing bass lines the whole time I ever played guitar." she says of her ease into the new instrument.
Catfish Mustache's debut cd, "Touch My Beer and I'll Kill Ya", was released in Novemeber of 2010. Currently, they are recording their sophmore album, which is well on it's way to becoming a two-disc compilation.
You can also hear their music on the local radio stations, KWSS 106.7 and X103.9.
With a steady stream of new fans and a determination and passion for music, Catfish Mustache is poised to take America by storm. Be on the look out for them playing a show near you!
