Maya Love Coppola

Genre: Singer/Songwriter
Secondary Genre: Adult Contemporary Woodstock, New York USA Contact

A lightly plugged (as opposed to unplugged) marriage between David Bowie and Carole King. A bit soulful, a bit pyschedelic, a bit folky and a bit rock and roll, Maya Love writes songs like they used to write back when songs were songs.

Artist Information

Biography

Maya Love Coppola aka Maya Love emerged on the NYC music scene over 10 years ago as a slight of a girl with a big voice and a smoking indie rock band called Wish. Playing her stand up cello and showing obvious reverence for David Bowie, her songs were passionate, explosive, and psychedelic with just enough angst to keep everyone mystified.

She returns to the scene nearly a decade later after moving to Woodstock (yes, THE Woodstock) becoming a mom and connecting with her inner peacenik. Her music now reflects the wisdom and grace of a woman who has experienced hardship, heartache, love and laughter and sings about it with the whimsy and wonder of a spritely child. Reminiscent of the songwriting styles of David Bowie and Carole King, Maya Love exhibits a duality in her approach to song... half hippie half angry urbanite, possessing a psychedelic soul with a sharp tongue she continues to mystify.

Currently in the studio recording her upcoming album on Cherry Bomb Records with Producers Brian Halverson and Tony lazzara .
Due to be released in late September.
