JimmyJo and the Jumbol'Ayuhs hail form the bayous of central Maine, the very western edge of Acadia. They play Cajun music in the traditional Cajun "dance hall" style on button accordion, fiddle, guitar, bass, drums, ti'fer and fratoire. Waltzes, 2-steps, Cajun blues and old time Cajun reels.

Biography

JimmyJo and the Jumbol’Ayuhs is a Cajun dance band that hails from the bayous of mid-coast Maine. They play the traditional “dance hall” style dance music from southwest Louisiana that features Cajun accordion, fiddle, guitar, electric bass, drums and Cajun triangle (ti’-fer). Band members Jim Joseph, Pam Weeks, Bill Olson, Elna Joseph and Kit Garovoy have studied with many of the Cajun “masters” in Louisiana and bring to the audience an authentic Cajun sound. They want you to come dance to waltzes, 2-steps and Cajun blues numbers most of which are sung in Cajun French, often in 3, 4 or 5 part harmony! Sink into that mesmerizing Cajun rhythm and dance the night away!!
