22 year old Andrea Godin is no stranger when it comes to the music industry. Born and raised in St. George, Ontario, this beautiful Pop/R&B recording artist knew at a young age she wanted to be a singer. After her first performance at 11 years old, Andrea was ready to get her career started.
Competing and singing in different competitions over the years, Andrea earned the “Brantford Teen Idol” title in 2004 and was the winner of her High School’s singing competition in 2007. In between her winnings, she performed her song “Forever Long” live on Daytime which is a show on Rogers Television.
2011 saw major career changes for Andrea as she released her debut EP, followed by her single “Bullet” in April which would later become a huge success on airwaves. Andrea’s original songs would also become licensed on National Television, such as City TV and OMNI. In November 2011, Andrea would get the news that she was nominated for Pop Recording of the Year in the Hamilton Music Awards for her debut EP “Andrea”. 2012 moved along fast for Andrea, with her single “Need A Minute” released in January, followed by the music video in February which was aired on the well known TV music channel MUCH Vibe. She would then release her dance floor ready house collaboration “I Love Miami” with Toronto Dj/Producer Cajjmere Wray. Both songs can be heard on radio, as well in nightclubs and seen on blogs and websites worldwide. In September 2012, Andrea then released “Memories” with Grammy nominated artist Ryan Farish.
Andrea has been busy showcasing her music along with her back up dancers at many high profile events. She has been given the opportunity to perform in venues such as The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, The Grand ‘Ole Opry in Nashville, and in some of Toronto’s most popular hot spots. Andrea has also had the pleasure of opening for such artists as Karl Wolf, Craig Smart, Theory of a Deadman and more. Magazines such as Urban Teen in California, UK Flow Magazine, Essential Pop and Nine5four have already picked up on this talented singer, some even making her the cover of their magazine, while television shows like CTV and Rogers, and radio station 92.1 CKPC and others have all continued to promote her music.
Andrea is currently in the studio recording new music and working on her EP, while still performing live at many events. With influences such as Beyonce, Rihanna, Alicia Keys and Jojo, there is no doubt that this Canadian born singer will one day be on top of the charts right next to these names. For now she is anticipating the many exciting things to come.
