215 (Two Fifteen) is a four piece alternative indie rock band from Milwaukee,WI, with their influences ranging from 90's alternative bands like Nirvana, Faith No More and Weezer, to Heavier Rock bands like Tool, Sevendust, and Nine Inch Nails.
Since hitting the music scene in November of 2009, 215 has been surprising audiences everywhere with their versatile and unique setlists. One review of the bands debut cd, Black Electric (2010), was quoted as saying, "Hard rock bands with a sense of humor are hands down more fun than those who take all the skulls and skewerd corpses on their album covers seriously." In a nutshell, dont judge a band by its album artwork and sometimes mindboggling song titles, just sit back, take a listen and enjoy all of the little contradictions and its play on words. With 215's candid ability to write music from an array of rock genres, they hope to continue to produce songs that will leave their mark on a variety of audiences around the midwest and look to do the same in cities throughout the country.

• 215's Eclectic Black Electric Album Spans Every Musical Genre [+ Show ]
  

  Hard rock bands with a sense of humor are hands down more fun than those who take all the skulls and...Hard rock bands with a sense of humor are hands down more fun than those who take all the skulls and skewered corpses on their album covers seriously. Bands like Ween and Primus are the old school forerunners, the example-setters if you will, of “ridiculous but rocking”, but few out there today can walk that tightrope with as much confidence. Milwaukee’s 215 is one that can.
  
  Their debut album Black Electric (self-recorded entirely at MMI Studios in Madison, WI.), contrasts its pitch black “metal up your ass” look and sound, with smile encouraging titles like “I’m A Dinosaur” and “Bit By A Sheep”. Taking lessons from their predecessors, they’ve got some straight out hardcore numbers in there as well, to level the emotional playing field they like to run amok on. “Static To Bleed” and “FSC”, for instance, are two that leave no time to laugh, and only time to rock.
  
  On the other side of that same fence, there’s a few tracks with titles that leave you unsure how to take them at first. One might make the assumption that “Hurts Like Hell” must be a sadsack breakup anthem, but the standout line at the close of the chorus is: “if you won’t come back to me, I hope you get yourself an STD” . No doubt this is a fan favorite at their live shows, and likely inspires girls and guys alike to sing along. It's a vengeful curse we can all relate to having cast on someone in our lives.
  
  215 draws clearly from a number of influences, but from a smorgasbord of stylistic differences. They sound a little like Nirvana (“Last Words”), a little like Weezer (“4 Years”) and then a lot like Nine Inch Nails on the synthetic and spooky “Keep Quiet”.
  
  “We don’t just play one genre of music - we hit every sub genre of rock. Alternative is our main sound, but we delve into everything from punk to shoegaze to 1950’s surf rock,” explains lead singer/guitarist Josh C. “Basically, name the category, and we’re doing a little bit of it.”
  
  You can catch 215’s next eclectic live performances on July 24th at Hattrix in Kenosha. They’ll also be doing a stint on Independence Day for the Wauwatosa 4th of July Parade, and will be performing again in Milwaukee on Saturday, August 7th at The Monkey Bar on 1st Street.
