Biography

One Punch Machine Gun is a local San Francisco band surviving off of cigarettes and whiskey. Everyday is a sacrifice when you're making music. Music, in general, is one medium in art which is used to speak to the masses. We want to be heard. We adamantly believe we have the talent to prove we deserve to be listened to. We are confident, not a bunch of pre-madonna rockstars, and are humbled through the journey and lengths we still have to go. We love what we do and we do it well. Our lives are inside One Punch Machine Gun's music because we, as a unit, are dedicated to our music. We have all come from different music influences, which creates a combustible element within our music.

We are children of the 90's, inspired by poetic heroin addicts, thrashing guitar solos and musical geniuses who decided to write music for music and not rockstardom. Our influences go from Led Zeppelin to Black Label Society to Incubus to Soundgarden back to Metallica and around to Tool. What sets us apart is our desire to be musicians and be honest to our fans and ourselves by writing music that comes straight from our soul and not from our pockets. Yes, music is a industry that thrives on a capitalistic mindset but the best product sold is the one that speaks for itself and when marketed correctly will thrive. We have the product and are searching with our good eye to fine that medium to funnel our "red pill" to the masses and get them to wake up from the stupor that Top 40 has casted upon them.

Our band has been through a heavy transition going from a hard rock sound with previous members Derrick Reyes(drummer) and Dan Flores(rhythm guitar) to a more metalcore/melodic metal sound. We have played gigs at the Great American Music Hall (SF), Slim's (SF), the Roxie (LA) to name a few and many other great venues. When we preform our focus is on our music and we provide the crowd, whether 25 or 10,000 people, with a show that they will never forget, get on their iPhone and update their status to tell their friends how amazing the show was. It's the least we could do since they paid to see a show. We are based in San Francisco and have been doing a steady 3-4 shows a month while currently recording our second EP, which the date for release has not been determined yet.

What separates us from the pack is that our only goal is to be better musicians. We want to the greatest of our time, and that will only come with hard work and determination. We dont want to be a one hit wonder or a group for a decade. We want to transcend past the trends and be respected as one of the best and most real musicians and band there ever was. Everyday we are working hard, building our empire piece by piece and taking in every hardship and difficulty there is in the work to gain notoriety and respect from the music community. We are genuinely starting from the bottom and working our way upward to prove that those who go through "Baptism Under Fire" will come out, like a sword, stronger than before. Yes, we set our goals high! We know that this will not come without very very hard work, and believe me: We are ready for that work and are working very hard just to get to that level.
