Artist Information
Biography
Clayton Graham Fike is the first to admit he’s not original. Granted, it’s not for a lack of trying but, rather, for the simple fact that he can’t escape his influences. “My music is completely unoriginal,” he explains, “because if it weren’t for all the artists that have influenced my life and my writing over the years, I wouldn’t have been able to find my own sound.”
Fike, who was born in Dallas, Texas and now resides in Nashville, Tennessee, grew up with a variety of musical influences that span the gamut from Indie Rock to Classic Rock to Bluegrass and beyond. His father taught him how to appreciate the sounds of legendary artists such as Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor, The Eagles and others. Fike picked up a guitar at age nine and began his music career by age 14.
Artists such as Ryan Adams , Copeland, Jon Foreman, Joshua Radin, Badly Drawn Boy, James Taylor, David Bazan, John Mayer, and many, many others now color his personal sound along with his past influences.
Songs such as “All The Time,” “Sunshine,” “Alone” and “Brooks & Brandywine” mix all of these influences together in one way or another and create his signature sound: heartfelt, unadulterated, catchy sing-along’s influenced by a life full of heartache, joy, love, tumultuous relationships, travel, spirituality and, most of all, good music.
