Biography

Our Future Leaders is an Orlando based rock band, poised to take the world by storm. With intricate guitars, heart-pounding rhythms, and emotionally-charged vocals, Our Future Leaders EP, “Machines”, breaks free from the status quo. The album has been hailed as “an atom bomb of a debut...” by Indie Music Reviews, and was produced by Casey Daniel of Seven Mary Three and NerVer.

With the success of “Machines”, Our Future Leaders have also established themselves as one of the hottest live acts in Central Florida, where they have played many of the city’s most prominent venues including: House of Blues, The Social, The Haven, Axis Magazine's Orange Ave Jam with Seven Mary Three and the renowned Florida Music Fest with Candlebox, Filter, & The Dirty Heads.

With a new album to be mastered by the legendary Beau Hill (Alice Cooper, Warrant, Stevie Nicks), Our Future Leaders plan to defy all expectations, and deliver an album that redefines the modern music scene!

  One part gruff, yet melodic vocals, one part unbridled hard rock sensibility, one part searing guita...One part gruff, yet melodic vocals, one part unbridled hard rock sensibility, one part searing guitar solos, and a dash of thunderous percussion make up Orlando, Florida’s latest musical sensation. Our Future Leaders dropped an atom bomb of a debut onto the alternative and hard rock community with Machines, containing moments of hair-raising choruses and head banging breakdowns.
  
  With a clear knack for versatility and ingenuity in their songwriting, Our Future Leaders keeps the fans guessing by blending multiple genres together to create their ideal musical concoction. While “Enemy” borders on the softer edge of alternative rock, tracks such as “Caliber” explode with a metallic influences and white-hot guitar solos.   Machines is the debut EP from Orlando band Our Future Leaders. It doesn’t sound much like a debut re...Machines is the debut EP from Orlando band Our Future Leaders. It doesn’t sound much like a debut release, it has much more depth than one would expect from a first recording, the five songs are complex, rich in layers of various musical genres all while comfortably straddling the territory between classic and modern rock sounds.
  
  Most bands that try to embrace so many different genres stumble miserably in an out-of-focus limbo, but not Our Future Leaders. Their varied genres and influences meld together harmoniously and appear not only sharply focused, but right on track.
  
  The hard charging “Enemy” opens the EP with a prominent, searing guitar, which morphs throughout the song, at times dominating and other times blending smoothly with layered vocals. “Caliber” has a more Punk/Alternative sound with a fast, frenzied pace. The creamy vocals in “Kill the Youth” tempers the edgy music and gives the song a classic, psychedelic feel. In “Obtain” a classic tone spins around a Modern Rock sound in a swirling musical alliance. Closing the EP is the softer, “American Dream” with an acoustic guitar opening and velvety vocal layers drawing the listener along with the lyrical message “We offer up empty greetings and pointless banter / we don’t always have to be machines.”
  
  The EP was recorded at Orlando’s Old Groove Studios and produced by Casey Daniel (of Seven Mary Three and NerVer). It was a great pairing, he did a terrific job with the band and their music.
  
  Machines is an impressive debut; the five songs on it show a lot of diversity in the band’s sound. The EP is available at Amazon, CD Baby and iTunes.

From the first song they deliver powerful riffs with hard hitting rhythm. There’s no stopping them. When I reached the song “Obtain” it was clear that this band has depth and range. The last song left me amazed. “American Dream” is a poetic, and meaningful song that shows us that these young men have great music future before them. Having their regular drummer definitely made a difference. They started their set with good driving power rock and the energy was filling the room. I could see the people stop texting and playing pool to move toward the stage. Always a good sign. The energy continued to build and transferred from the band to the crowd and back. The music was original and tight. Then I got to see some magic I have not seen in a long time. The band moved into their punk songs and the energy went through the roof. The crowd began dancing frenetically to the point of a mosh pit and everyone was having a great time. It was truly a treat reminding me of a time gone by when rock music was pure energy and fun. When it took your soul and just wrung it out. Leaving you exhausted and wanting more. I was really impressed by the talent of the leader (Brian Strean). His range went from mellow to hard to punk rock with consistency. The talent of this band is something to watch. Then came the real treat. It’s always a pleasure to attend a show when the opening act blows away the main act. And this is exactly what happened. When Hannen came on, the front man tried to encourage the crowd to come to the stage and party as they did before but, he had very little present. As they started you could to tell the music was bland and mainstream. It did not work after the previous show. If you like mainstream however, this could be a band you could get into. After listening to the free cd, I found it smooth and pleasant but that is really not my forte. There is too much of that out there already. I’m happy that there are bands going in the energy direction like Our Future Leaders. It’s about time to get back to good powerful rock that gets your heart pounding and your blood pumping. I believe this band will go places if they keep the pace.
