Biography

FELLOWBLISS
TAYLOR DUPREE BREWINGTON

The new Fellowbliss EP "Laughing at Catastrophe" is set to hit shelves at the end of Summer 2010. The album is the first collaboration between the group since they shed their former name (Jubilee) and evolved into Fellowbliss. It aims to translate the personal experiences of the band into aesthetically pleasing music that will not only draw crowds at live shows, but change the musical environment of Southwest Florida.

Fellowbliss first gathered as a band in January 2009, where they set to the road to show audiences in the Southeastern United States the unique synthesis of jaggedly rock-based rhythms and hip-hop styled flow that sets them apart from other local acts. The fluidity of the band has allowed the group to play at shows that range in the age of the audience, the size of the venue, and the type of music played. Fellowbliss' tunes have echoed the halls of churches, bars, youth groups, nightclubs, and festivals.

Three of the five original members continue to record and tour as a group, while a newly signed drummer fills a pair of the empty shoes. The hard-working musicians behind Fellowbliss are:

Jubilee – Vocals
“Magic” Mike Kirkland – Keyboard and Percussion
Matt Anastasi – Drums
Slim “Slimtronic5k” Gillian – Guitar

"Laughing at Catastrophe" is an independently recorded EP that documents the thoughts and emotions of a band that sees both great pain and coherent meaning in the world. The title of the album is a reflection of the band's personality. Despite seeing utter failures in all facets of life, guitarist Slim Gillian proudly declares “we are bigger, better, and stronger, but more than that, [we're] ready and willing to fight.” The band aims to make this EP an album that listeners of all backgrounds can relate to. “The thing about 'Laughing at Catastrophe' is that it is unequivocally 'us.' Every song was written because we meant it, it's something we have felt or experienced ourselves,” vocalist Jubilee explains, “At this point, despite the catastrophic events of the past year, we still tilt our heads back and laugh at life.”
