http://www.sonicbids.com/epk/epk.aspx?epk_id=253656Local filmmaker\actor\singer Arlette Thomas-Fletcher has created an inspirational gospel music video, "You're Not Alone" that offers both a compelling story line and great production values. It also stars local actors Brandon Rice (from "Hard to Be Me") and Aubrohn King.
The video follows the tribulations of an estranged couple and speaks on the forgiveness and love of God. "You're Not Alone" premiered in the gospel stage-play "A Form of Godliness" and in the short film "The Mystery Date".
The video opens with Mrs. Thomas-Fletcher, an alto\soprano and songwriter, singing "You're Not Alone" as a solo in a rather large church. Cut to the husband and father, played by Mr. King, arguing with his wife (Pooja Chand) at home and leaving the house in a huff, luggage in hand. It's evident the wife is a big spender and the husband is not. They can' t reach a meeting of the minds over money, so he leaves.
Later we see the wife crying over her wedding photos, and later, the daughter (Taylor Comer) praying at the edge of her bed. The child is clearly traumatized by this turn of events. This is a family in crisis and we wonder if there's any hope for them. Watch it here to see how it all turns out. The video offers a message of hope against insurmountable odds and lends itself to repeat viewing.
The story was inspired by a poem from Mrs. Thomas-Fletcher's book "Poetry For The Soul" (which is on amazon.com). She wrote the poem, when she was a pre-teen, for her sister who was experiencing a lot of adversity at the time. Mrs.Thomas-Fletcher wrote her sister the poem to let her know she wasn't alone in her struggles.
The "You're Not Alone" music video was nominated for Best Music Video at the 2010 Attic Film Festival on April 9, 2010. "You're Not Alone" was also featured on WJZ 13, CBS' Baltimore affiliate, in 2004.
