Biography
Lauren Young is a singer/songwriter who has been compared to Brandi Carlile, Natalie Merchant, Joni Mitchell, Sarah Mclachlan, and Tori Amos.
Best described as Alt-Country to Pop-Rock to Adult Contemporary, Lauren Young is a true, cross-over talent in every sense of the word. Her “knock-you-over voice” is a deep, soulful blend that enhances her songwriting with a deeply personal edge.
Lauren’s personality is evident in her songs- sometimes deep and moody, sometimes off-the-wall wacky, always making one hell of a first impression.
Her first offering, “Active But Odd” is the soundtrack to your favorite drama and your favorite comedy all rolled into one and also features what many are calling the best cover of Hungry Heart you’ll ever experience.

Instrumentation
Lauren Young- plays acoustic & electric guitar with vocals. Other rotating musicians sit in on bass, drums, etc. when a full band is needed.

Setlist
Lauren plays two different types of shows: the originals show and the covers show.
If you're looking for up to a few hours of moving originals, with perhaps an innovative cover thrown in, you'd want an originals show.
Lauren also puts bread on the table by regularly playing cover shows (with an original thrown in by request). The covers are mostly top 40 hits from the past four decades. Lauren has song lists to pass around and eagerly takes requests. A list of the songs in Lauren's repertoire is available upon request.
Lauren also plays Irish Themed cover shows, mixing tradition Irish folk songs, Americana from the Irish tradition, and Modern popular covers from Irish Bands like U2.
