Biography

Scott has been writing songs for about 20 years. He comes from West Texas, but spent most of his adult life in or around Austin. He has been in the Northwest for the last six years or so, playing mostly in the Columbia Gorge and Portland where he fronted the band Sparks and Gravel, and played with a variety of other great musicians in and around Hood River, Or. He has just returned to Austin. Scott plays americana acoustic music mostly, influenced primarily by Texas songwriters like Townes, Steve Earl, Lyle, Guy Clark, McMurtry...to name a few.

He is putting a new band together and will be starting a recording project this summer.

  Ready to go...this could be released right now and put on the radio and marketed towards alt country folks and sell like crazy. Reminds me of modern Johnny Cash...well done.

  Resurection of Johnny Cash!!!
  This is very, very good. I would listen to it again. The Johnny Cash influence is duly noted. Best thing about this song is the mood it creates. I feel like I'm out riding on the Western plains looking at the empty mountains and feeling blue over a lost love...ahh, I need a drink. Lyric is solid, and vocal delivery is dead on. Maybe I'd rock it up a little bit at the end, but overall there ain't nothin' wrong w/this one.

  This is damn good.
  The guitar has a great tone to it. Nice vintage vibe. The singer is well schooled. Good range to the vocals. The Melody and arrangement is a little unusual(Not that thats a bad thing though)
