A Tragedy At Hand (ATAH) is a metal/hardcore band from Dallas, TX. We have been a band for about three years now with some of the members playing together in previous bands. We draw our influence from bands like The Devil Wears Prada, August Burns Red, Underoath, and even Swedish band Dark Tranquility. We've had the privilege of playing with over 75 national acts in the past year (2010) with bands that include: The Devil Wears Prada, Enter Shikari, White Chapel, Black Veil Brides, Attack Attack, Asking Alexandria, We Came As Romans, Alesana, Perce the Veil, Suicide Silence, Bleeding Through, For Today, Silverstein, Chiodos, Senses Fail, Emery, Forever The Sickest Kids, Haste The Day, A Skylit Drive, and way more (check full list under "Notes" at www.facebook.com/atahband). Our debut EP titled "In Case of an Emergency" is in over 35 Hot Topics in TX, CA, and LA. We just released our official music video for our new single "ZOMG" with Scott Hanson (Also did A Day To Remember, The Devil Wears Prada, We Came As Romans, OTEP, Ill Nino, Willie Nelson, A Skylit Drive, and way more). We have also been a part of Cornerstone Festival in IL and keep our fans engaged by filming and editing our own YouTube video updates. We work hard to get where we are by spending hours, days, even weeks online talking to people, promoting at big shows we aren't even playing, and driving hours and hours to deliver tickets. We will continue this work ethic till we go to the next level and will continue to work hard even after that. We are so thankful to the for all the support we have and will never take it for granted.

A Tragedy At Hand is at the dawn of what promises to be a long, successful career, so at this stage, puns involving the band’s name may still be a novelty. With that said, the only tragic thing about this Dallas-based five-piece would be if you didn’t hear the band’s music. Just a few moments of listening to any A Tragedy At Hand track indicates that the band is immensely talented, with a knack for producing mind-blowing melodies, indulgently heavy riffing, massive breakdowns and vocals that oscillate between howling and harmonious.
A Tragedy At Hand is currently unsigned, but from the polished production and talented songwriting, the band doesn’t seem intent on remaining that way for long. A Tragedy At Hand took some time out from creating kick-ass music to talk to Live Music Insider about being an independent band, the music scene in Dallas and the band’s future plans. Here’s what the band had to say.
