Biography
Sad Face is a five piece rock band from Seattle, Washington. Garnering comparisons of bands such as Low, the Pixies, and Radiohead, their moody and melodic sound is diverse and dynamic, running the gamut from soft, harmony driven pop-tunes to chaotic, dissonant noise rock.
In their short career, the have accomplished the following:
-Voted "Best New Band" in Seattle Magazine's 2011 Reader's Poll.
-Voted The Stranger's "Band of the Week" on April 28th 2012.
-Voted The Deli Seattle's "Band of the Month" for October 2012.
-Had the opportunity to play with amazing bands such as Ramona Falls (Barsuk), Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band (Dead Oceans), Thousands (Bella Union) and many others.
"The five piece make introspective, well balanced tunes. At their best, the band is actually reminiscent of Radiohead circa In Rainbows. Melodic guitar interplay and general noise ambience coalesce into a fine ethereal sound for the group. They are definitely worth keeping on your radar." -The Deli Seattle, Music Blog
"Sad Face is a local indie rock group that has some definite talent. This is a band that you share with all of your friends..." -Lindsey Scully, Seattle Show Gals
"...Seattle’s own Sad Face plays the types of depressingly honest songs with not-so-subtle irate undertones. Bring your earplugs and set your alarm for snooze as this is going to be quite a night." -SEA live MUSIC
"I saw Seattle’s Sad Face last month at the Tractor Tavern, and yes, they are stunning. I hadn’t heard of this band – how? why was that? – and was torn to bits by their music. I didn’t know what they would do next. They’ll be at the Comet this Saturday, December 3rd. Do not miss their set. Get there early. Leave work early. Quit whatever you are doing early. I don’t care. Get in trouble." -Back Beat Seattle

Discography
-Gosh Darn! (2011)
-Cheer Yourself Up (2012)
Sad Face released their debut album, "Gosh Darn!", in May of 2011 with standout tracks "Death Boy", "To Use Another", "The Angel" and "Sapphire Noise" garnering airplay on Seattle's world famous independent radio station, KEXP. They quickly followed up their debut album with a diverse four-song EP, "Cheer Yourself Up," featuring the single "Red Chair."
"Tim Mendonsa's dreamy vocals mingle with dark, brooding shoegaze, waves of reverb, and crunchy guitars. An absorbing, penetrating pop sound." -Seattle Weekly, October Issue of Reverb Monthly
"...Sad Face mixes tunes with retro punk-pop beats with some harder garage rock riffs, so there's quite a variety packed into this 7-song debut. After a few listens, the tunes I'm digging most are "Death Boy", "Postscript" and "The Angel" -- I also can't help thinking they'd be pretty awesome live..." -Imaginary Amie, Three Imaginary Girls
"...There's plenty of sonic variety and obvious talent, and I expect this record to make my year end Top 20..." -John Hyland, When You Motor Away...
