Biography
Perpetual Detour combine insightful lyrics and melodic harmonies with themes of love and longing to bring you a soulful performance that leaves you wanting more.
This Alternative rock foursome was formed in 2008 and is based in Halifax, NS. They have been compared to the likes of Sarah McLachlan and Jann Arden. Perpetual Detour songs have been described as thoughtful and engaging. Or, to quote a new fan "the music and lyrics bring out the best in each other". Think Natalie Merchant.
If you have been lucky enough to catch a live performance in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or PEI... you know how fun these gals are live! All play multiple instruments and there are sweet 3 part harmonies.
Most recently PD played at the Harmony Bazaar Festival in Lockeport, NS. If you missed that show, don't worry! We'll see you at The Union St Cafe/Wick Pub in Berwick NS Aug 19/2011 8pm. More dates to be annouced soon!

The Girl Band from Halifax, We are Perpetual Detour
"Awesome alternative folk/rock ... about love, longing, desire, redemption and hope. "
Setlist
We are an intimate band with a full sound that includes keyboard, bass, acoustic and electric guitars and drums.
We have adapted our act to be acoustic if the use of a drum kit doesn't work (we'll use a djembe instead).
So this means we can adapt to small spaces like coffee shops or larger spaces like arts centres, pubs and festivals.
We have an extensive repertoire of beautiful original music and would be capable of covering 2 sets. While we prefer origionals we have a few cover songs by bands we respect and admire.
