Brett Hardwick and the Sometimes Band

Genre: Pop
Secondary Genre: Blues , Not Applicable Australia Contact

Many years but more beers have gone into shaping this band. The search for the perfect melody is still under way, with some serious groove to please the feet. Brett spends any spare moments honing his overated guitar skills and wishing he could sing like Perry Como. A song can be many things, and what was reggae last night might be some cheesy country ditty tomorrow. A blues shuffle might take an orgasmic and psychedelic turn, causing sweaty palms and feelings of euphoria. No one is safe.

Biography

Grew up with a classical guitar in my hands with parents driving me around to eisteddfods and exams. Won the u/17 Australian classical guitar competition. Luckily for me at 15 I was turned on to some of the masters--Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Cream, Yes and Santana.
Next off to study jazz for a couple of years at WAAPA where some great teachers introduced me to so much amazing music and sound.

When "the sometimes band" plays we always try to keep things fresh and there is a heaps of band interplay and improv. We funk, we rock, we reggae, we blues and we jam. The rhythm section comprises of the FANTASTIC Rick Eastman on drums and the FAT AND FUNKY Manoli Vouyoucalos on bass.
