Biography

Scientifically speaking liquid is a state of matter that has the unique ability to flow and take the shape of any given form. Much like the scientific properties of this state of matter, The LiQU!D, musically captures this essence, grooving and flowing directly into your soul. This uniquely progressive funk-rock 4-piece is comprised of four eclectic knuckle-heads, a couple of guitars, a drum kit, some keys, some old favorites, some soon-to be new favorites, and a plethora of grooves to move to. The LiQU!D’s fluidity is derived from their thoughtful and poetic original songs fused with grooves from interstellar quadrants of the universe. The LiQU!D is sure to facilitate your feet into action emanating an unexplainable experience that is definitely not to be missed.
From Connecticut, the band mainly pools in the Northeast but disseminates through several different genres of music as it drips its way through Rock, Reggae, Funk, Bluegrass, Jazz, and whatever else it finds itself surrounded with. The LiQU!D's fluidity proceeds to intrigue with thought provoking original songs from the maniacal mind of singer/songwriter/guitarist Tom Gaetani, fused with the sounds of space-funk extraordinaire Pat Curtin on Keys. Along with the ever-enjoyable mastery of the low-end brought to you by the one and only Luke Rutledge. Luke (Bass) reigns over the low end, transcending infectious grooves from the deepest realms of molecular science. All the while Lloyd Munroe III (Drums/Percussion) facilitates your feet into action, enticing you shake what your momma gave you. The LiQU!D will pool in Stafford Springs to open of "T.C. and Friends" aka "In the Dark with legendary Grateful Dead Keyboardist Tom Constanten" These shows take place under a covered pavilion outdoors. Rain wont stop the party, nor will it get you wet. Come party and enjoy some live music outdoors w/ Bar, fresh food, Gongs and Reiki. and much more! Tom Constanten and Friends Phil Lesh was standing in line at Cal Berkeley's music department in 1961 when he overheard a young man, Tom Constanten by name, remark that Music stop...ped being created in 1750 and began again in ...1950. They shook hands, and became friends for life. Shortly after, T.C. persuaded Phil to apply for a special class in electronic composition at Mills College with Luciano Berio, which would become one of the touchstones of Lesh's life. As the Grateful Dead emerged and began to create, Phil returned the favor to T.C., who became the Dead's advisor/keyboard creative spirit, altering normal piano sounds by inserting combs, Dutch dimes, and a gyroscope into the body of the keyboard, as they recorded the masterpiece avantgarde albums Anthem of the Sun and Aoxomoxoa. He joined the touring band in November 1968, and amicably departed in January 1970, feeling that he was underamplified ... and in so doing avoided the curse of the Dead keyboard seat. Tom is a member of the Rock n Roll hall of fame. The Liquid will open up the show on Friday Rhythmic Circus will open the show on Saturday David Chambers will be bringing the Gongs, David has been a great supporter of the band and has spent years doing what he does best which is bringing the healing of the Gongs wherever he goes.
