Biography

Let’s be honest: most singer/songwriters are convinced their feelings rock. Max Beizer is something different. By avoiding the syrupy sweet Pop clichés, Max has carved out a niche for himself as a songwriter that actually has something to say other than, “look at me!” His smart Songwriter/Pop often uses humor to package a larger message. Not to be confused with a singing comedian, Max Beizer is more than just another guy with feelings and songs—and that is what makes him a great fit for the saturated college market.

Max has built a 3-piece acoustic lineup that provides a compact alternative to the solo, guy-with-guitar for the Coffee House format. He is also available for solo, acoustic shows and full electric band efforts.

The Washington, DC, native relocated to Music City in 2002 and has built a solid reputation as a performer and songwriter. With local and regional shows under his belt, Max Beizer has opened for the All-American Rejects and Philip LaRue (of LaRue). Max has played shows at Vanderbilt University and Belmont University, and he has received airplay on Nashville’s Lightning 100. He has also been a finalist at the famed Eddie’s Attic Shootout and has had AssociatedContent.com calling him an “Artist to Watch in 2010.” Max emerged with a 2nd place finish in the Nashville-wide Miller Lite Songwriting Contest in 2007. Max’s latest studio release, Strange Bedfellows, was engineered by Taylor Nyquist (Rascal Flatts, Andy Davis) and mastered by Grammy®-winner Charles Yingling (Willie Nelson, Ray Price).

Contrary to popular belief Nashville is not just a country Town and Max Boozer's followers are the proof in the pudding. I discovered this modern day Billy Joel with puppy dog eyes on the local Nashville Scene. His music is thoughtful and romantic, John Mayer like, without the bad boy persona. His brand new CD Strange Bedfellows is in Max's own words, "the soundtrack to the post-college, pre-real-life phase I am in the midst of. I knew from an early age that I was not going to be good at the straight down the middle, "baby, baby, I love you" songs, so I had to try something different. As a DIY artist, I face the possibility, everyday, of falling short of that and leading an entirely unspectacular life. This album is a testament to avoiding the pitfalls of self-pity and inaction-- a tilting at windmills, if you like." I personally fell in love with the song Nicole Alone. This is his sophomore album and follow up to his first titled Self Titled. Strange Bedfellows CD release will be Jan. 4th 2010.   Max Beizer is a name I’ve seen many times around town… and if you’re wondering, it rhymes with visor...Max Beizer is a name I’ve seen many times around town… and if you’re wondering, it rhymes with visor, per the artist’s website. He was a regular at Music Society Nashville, and has played at the Basement’s New Faces Night. His first, self-titled CD came out in 2004, which means Beizer is hardly a new face anymore.
  
  The DC native started playing guitar at age 11, and says his first song… about cleaning his room… was written at age 13. Not overly interested in “straight down the middle” love songs, Beizer’s songs still take on some quirky topics. He came to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University and has made his home in Music City.
  
  His latest release is called Strange Bedfellows. Beizer worked on the album here, and used friends and frequent collaborators in lieu of hired musicians. The 9 tracks deal with being alone, coping with reality, angry neighbors, and what Beizer calls “the post-college, pre-real-life phase.” You can take a listen to the complete songs online here.

Every artist wants to reach people… to better the lives of others through his medium. Setlist

We play sets of original music usually lasting 30-45 minutes.

Mixed sets (originals and covers) can last up to 2 hours. The cover material ranges in genres from Classic Rock to Show Tunes, Jazz to Hip Hop.
