Biography
In the fall of 2010, Andy Barham set out to record an album and joined with bassist Mark Williams to complete the instrumentation on the record. In addition vocalist Julia Parmenter came in to sing on a couple of the tracks. The recording is a full length, 9 song album titled, "Roadrunner Deceived" and stands as the Andy's first official release. The range of style on the record takes the listener on a journey through folk, delta blues and americana tunes that vividly hit on themes of unrequited love, absent parents, chance encounters and spiritual beginnings.
Andy Barham released the recording in August of 2011 in Austin, TX and hope to support the record with a national tour.
BAND:
Andy Barham / Vocals & Guitars
Barham, born and raised in San Antonio, TX moved to Monroe, LA at age 9 and shortly thereafter began to play guitar and rehash Zeppelin and Jethro Tull albums as best as his young fingers would allow. With long hours in practice, he learned to recreate what he loved. Growing up, North Carolina played host to Barham as a high school student attending an all boys boarding school located in the Blue Ridge Mountains outside Asheville. Barham got his start and cut his teeth playing for crowds of kids and counselors at Camp Highlander for 12 years. Soon, original music started to surface and stemmed from the ups and downs of his past including the untimely death of his older sister at age 14. In the fall of 2007 Andy moved down to Austin, TX from North Carolina where he continues his journey as a professional Folk and Americana artist today. You’ll find three guitars on stage with Barham, and he prides himself on his finger picking ability. Trained by great musicians such as Ray Willie Hubbard, and Ken Breard, Barham’s style rarely mimics but always compliments traditional string instrumentation.
