Biography
Our band has influences that range from classic rock all the way to death metal, hitting on all the major areas inbetween as far as ska, punk, all the new york hardcore we can het our hands on, heavy metal, modern rock, you name it we listen to it and take a little something from it. In Traction formed fully in july of 2004, without our frontman the three other members had been preparing themselves for this endeavor since october of 2003 getting together and writing the basic format of some of the existing songs and honing their skill and building, some of the writing chemistry that was only strengthened by our frontman.

We as of now have 4 recorded songs, on a self titled demo for promotion and to give some of the drooling fans something to go home with after our set. Boneyard, Risk, Black & White, S.I.D in order are the 4 tracks. The only airplay we have recieved is we did an appearance on a local radio station 103.5,103.9 the edge and they played our demo on the air. We are also pending to be listed on nmn music search, we have a listing at www.myspace.com/intraction, a listing at www.purevolume.com/intraction, we are up on the ernie ball battle of the bands site right now, and also qualified in the top 100 out of 2000 bands on the fuse and dadarrio greatest band sweepstakes. A: Everyone except our frontman (Frank Demmert) is from Northville, he is from Gloversville which is the same are about a half hour away. We are close to the Adirondacks about an hour from Albany. It is mostly country out here and the scene is weak, we have to go to Albany, Latham, or Hudson, to play most shows. But we don’t want to forget all our Metal head friends who show up no matter where we go.
2. Your sound, particularly on the song "Black and White" evoked a certain Biohazard meets HC intensity but without the Biohazard-rap metal parts. I really liked what I heard. What is your vision of your style as artists?
A: Thank you for the biohazard reference, we are all big fans of biohazard. If you were asking us to put ourselves in a genre then we would say Metal-core, but not limited to that. We try to stay true to our metal roots while giving props to the H.C. Scene that we know and love.
3. Do you have any album plans? What's in the works for the band?
A: We are in the works of our full length. I just got home from practice and we are wrapping up our 11th song to what will be our full length. We hope to release it this summer or fall. Our overall plan for the band is to take this as far as we possibly can, and always write quality metal.
4. How did you meet and form and what inspired your start? You seem to have accomplished a good deal in a short amount of time.
A: Myself and Josh Bovee (Strings) are cousins, we both have been friends with Jay Bowie (drummer) since high school. We jammed together the three of us, for about 6 or 7 months, while actively seeking a singer. We got more than we bargained for when we met our frontman Frank Demmert. He propelled us into a whole other realm, where we feel we can fulfill our dedications to the metal that has inspired us and we are now forced to fulfill that prospect.
5. What bands would you ideally love to work alongside on the road?
A: Oh My god, that’s a tough question. We owe our asses to a lot of bands, but heres our best shot. Sick of it all, Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, and Mudvayne. That’s just to name a very quick and select few that come to mind.
6. How did you choose the name "In Traction" and what does it signify?

9. When writing songs is it a collaborative effort or more of a Danzig type thing where one person defined the look and approach?
A: It is always a collaborative effort. We all do our part to bring some of the diversity and complexity that we have to our songs. Especially the new ones!!! Gotta check out the shows to hear them.
