Artist Information
Biography
Maharold Peoples, Jr. & Tribe of Praise (MP2 & TOP) is an aggregation of talented singers and musicians who perform original music composed by Minister Peoples. MP2 & TOP seeks to permeate the soul by giving listeners profound spiritual messages as well as exciting, rhythmic and melodious music that will minister over and over again.
In 2001, MP2 & TOP released their freshman Gospel CD, "The Millennium Project". It is a mighty testament to the calling and anointing of Min. Peoples. Although influenced by such greats as Rev. James Cleveland, Walter Hawkins and Andre Crouch, MP2 & TOP has a style that is uniquely their own. They perform extensively along the East Coast and have shared the bill with major recording artists such as John P. Kee & New Life Community Choir, Hezekiah Walker & Love Fellowship Crusade, Jeff Majors, Rev. Timothy Wright & the Concert Choir, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Donnie McClurkin, Tye Tribbett & Greater Anointing and others.
They released their sophomore project "Theory of Evolution" on Relevant Praise Music Group, an independent record label in 2007. Tribe of Praise videos can be seen on MusicChoice, BET and Gospel Music Channel.
Minister Maharold Peoples, Jr. is Chapter Representative of the Northwest Virginia Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America. He is a dedicated and accomplished singer, songwriter, producer, musician and new author of an inspirational book “What to do When Things Don’t Change” (Tate Publishing 2008). www.maharoldpeoplesjr.com
