Biography

For over 20 years, Glen Strickey has performed, arranged, composed, and recorded music of various styles all over the world. As both a sideman and band leader, Glen has had the opportunity to play with Grammy award winning musicians and legends in the field of Jazz, including Oscar Petterson, Oliver Jones, Lee Konitz, Rufus Reid, and Ruben Gonzalas. Growing up on Cape Breton Island on the east coast of Canada, Glen was heavily influenced at a young age by weekly Jazz sessions, which took place at his Uncle Rudy Pace’s home. It was there that he was introduced to Jazz music and had the opportunity to both hear and jam with some of the living legends of Jazz . This experience motivated Glen to study music at St. Francis Xavier University, where he received a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies. In the years that followed, Glen continued to play and perform with various groups at festivals, bars, and concert halls all over the world, including a recent set of gigs in Rome.

Now living in Prince Edward Island, Canada, Glen is the host of an extremely successful winter Jazz concert series and the founder of a music scholarship for budding Jazz musicians.
