Biography
The Rare Birds formed with the idea of bringing our combined experiences with other bands together in one fresh package, sidestepping the trendy, niche approaches that so many of our contemporaries lean toward. We feel it's the perfect time to remind people what real rock and roll sounds like and are dedicated to bringing that true, rugged, soulful sound back to the audience in a new way, representing our rust belt roots while taking that spirit into the future. We are influenced by bands such as The Black Keys, Grand Funk, Cream and Queens of the Stone Age. The Rare Birds began playing in Cleveland bars and venues, like The Grog Shop and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and will be relocating to Austin in January 2012.
