Charlottetown’s Arrows in the Air prove that a blend of hook-laden pop rock and 80s hair metal are key elements to a memorable concert-going experience. Comprised of singer/guitarist Bruce White and brothers Craig and Brady MacDonald on bass and drums, this high-energy trio sets out to bring the party to life. The audience is drawn to the fraternal bond linking the rhythm section while Bruce’s vocal and guitar tones are weaved around them, creating a net that unites the crowd as one entity. The band has been garnering attention through two sold out shows at CMW, an appearance on CTV’s “The Beat”, performances at NXNE and Indie Music Week, as well as six performances at the 2011 East Coast Music Awards – the largest music awards festival in the Atlantic region.

Refining their lineup in early 2010, Arrows in the Air drew their bows and road tested a self-engineered, self-produced EP entitled Shadows on the Skyline. With an onslaught of gigs throughout Eastern and Central Canada, their first year as a band saw them on stage 75 times in the good company of bands including Finger 11, Slowcoaster, Tim Chaisson and Morning Fold, The Stanfields, and Two Hours Traffic. The contagious melodies and visceral rhythms of their live show paved the way for memorable nights at Toronto’s Legendary Horseshoe Tavern, The Mansion in Kingston, Halifax’s famed Seahorse Tavern, Ottawa’s mainstay music room, The Rainbow and Burlington’s Legendary Red Rooster.

The band recognizes that a hard work ethic isn’t enough to make it in this industry – you have to have the songs. Bursting at the seams with catchy tunes and vibrant lyrics, Shadows on the Skyline brings a necessary soundtrack of rock n’ roll. Not only was the album nominated for the 2010 Music PEI Rock/Loud Album of the Year, “She’s an Avalanche” spent 8 weeks on the East Coast Countdown peaking at #2. A professional music video was shot in Toronto for “Love and Morals,” due for release this Fall.

When you have the show, the attitude, and the music, the next step is to build a support network. With an upcoming string of tour dates, a radio distribution agreement with Spincount, and a promotional campaign in place, Arrows in the Air are establishing new industry contacts, adding fan base, and building profile in anticipation of a second record in 2012.

To summarize a band that is most comfortable on stage with a searing sound that spreads like wildfire, Arrows in the Air are the collegiate rock band for today’s starving ears and restless dance shoes.
