Kerry Lee Lamont Simmons, known as the artist, Vision, was born and raised in Denmark, South Carolina. Rapping Gospel music was never a dream of his. Simmons grew up in an environment where sex, women, drinking, and smoking was the norm. During his college years, Simmons met and married his wife, April who brought Simmons into the church world. Simmons's heart began to change for God. After moving to Timmonsville, South Carolina, the couple began to backslide and ended up separating. They reconciled, got back to church, and God placed an immediate passion for music in Simmons. He began by listening to Christian hip hop and decided to record his own music which led to Simmons's first album entitled, In His Image. He sold his CD out of his trunk for two months. In 2009, Simmons signed with Tate Music Group to record his second album, Abominations, which includes his first release Drop the World.
