Artist Information

Biography

Ron Patterson’s passion for music has only grown stronger since he began his career at the young age of 11. Over the past 13 years he has cultivated his natural talent and skill. As a child, Ron was the lead vocalist of the soulful Hip-Hop group, the “Fly Guys”. From 1990 to 1994, the group appeared on BET’s “Screen Scene”, the nationally syndicated television show “ROC”, made numerous live appearances, and was featured many times in “Fresh”magazine. Actor/Director Charles S. Dutton saw such great potential in the guys that he wasted no time signing on as their financial manager. The members of the “Fly Guys” were a success, but at such a young age, still had many years of education ahead – both in school and in life. The group broke up, but Ron was not discouraged. His genuine love of music and entertainment led him to start producing and writing for himself as a solo artist. Ron’s gift of music also allowed him to teach himself how to play the piano and the guitar.

A few years later, Ron made the responsible decision to continue his schooling, and attended UC Berkeley. He graduated with degrees in Cognitive Science and Mathematics, and his involvement in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. both empowered him and taught him the true meaning of self discipline. The sum of his experiences at Berkeley made Ron a more marketable artist. Throughout his time at Cal, Ron never gave up on his dreams of one day becoming a renowned musical talent. In fact, the knowledge he gained made him not only a musician, but also a businessman with a plan and control over his career.

This past year has been a virtual whirlwind for Ron: he has opened for artists like Brian McKnight, Deborah Cox, Chico DeBarge, Aaron Hall, Carl Thomas, Thicke, Nina Sky, KC and Dave Hollister; he has filmed his first music video; and he has spent hours in the studio creating music – each song even hotter than the one before. Look out for his phenomenal solo mainstream debut in the summer of 2006.

1) Intro - “Close To You” (Track 8)
Musicians - no vocals artist enters the stage

2) “Take You Home” - (Track 6)
This selection has branded Ron Patterson’s creativity as an artist separating him from ALL of the rest in his genre. Ron tells a comedic story about being approached by a young lady while having a strong attraction to her friend. This song’s soulful guitar rhythm and urban feel has been known to make crowds bob their heads and chuckle at its real life imagery.

3) “We Can Do It” - (Track 3)
Ron really knows how to get the crowd involved. This selection is Ron’s altered version of the S.O.S Band’s 1982 Classic “Take Your Time (Do It Right)”. This song although familiar by the masses, audiences across the world never can figure out why they know the lyrics. Crowds tend to sing along with the chorus while reminiscing of the good old days.

4) “Storybook” – (Not yet released)
This selection was designed for couples. This song was written by Ron’s father in 1978 the year Ron was born. Ron’s appreciation for the content inclined him to turn its east coast old-school soul flavor into his own sexy modern love song. The chorus’s lyrics “Aint gone find no love like mine in no story book” turns into a rhapsodic celebration of urban romance.

5) “Master Blaster (Jammin’)” – Cover original by Stevie Wonder
This selection puts the icing on the cake for Ron’s departure from the stage leaving the crowed in an energized mood giving them a refreshing blast from the past. Even after Ron leaves the stage the crowed is sure to continue boogying down to this well known and universal upbeat rhythmic tune.
