Biography

What started as an acoustic project quickly turned into something more for the dynamic RUNNING DOWN ROMANCE.

These are musicians who have seen every aspect of the industry and have played almost any style of music you can think of.
Dan, Jeremy, Mike, and Joel had given their all to various bands that always seemed like something was missing. After years of searching for that "missing link", their paths crossed and they found their niche. This energy and passion is now what is gaining RDR attention throughout the US.

They have shared the stage with Tracey Lawrence, David Allen Coe, Montgomery Gentry, Gretchen Wilson, Brantley Gilbert, Luke Bryan, Colt Ford, Corey Smith, Rhett Akins, Drivin' N' Cryin', Jake Owen, Justin Moore, & Sevendust just to name a few.

It's a shot of Rock, a shot of Country, and a splash of Southern Rock blended together to make a concoction RDR calls YA'LLTERNATIVE.

  That’s how this high energy band got its start and that’s how they like to keep it. RDR formed in 2...That’s how this high energy band got its start and that’s how they like to keep it. RDR formed in 2008 when 4 very talented but frustrated musicians found each other. Each one had been playing with assorted bands, but never found the niche of music that really gelled with them. Over a couple bottles of Jaegar, their definitive, edgy sound with a southern rock and country heritage was born.
  When asked to describe their music, Running Down Romance describes it as “Ya’llternative (Country that kicks you in the face!)”. In order to better understand that, lets take a look at these guys individually.
  Running Down Romance is fronted by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Dan Crowder. When Dan isn’t busy writing songs for RDR or fronting the band during a live show, he keeps him self busy with a standing acoustic gig at Mellow Mushroom of Albany, Ga every Thursday Night. Working constantly to hone his already serious musical chops, Dan says that music is his life, his heart and his soul. Well, to be fair it’s actually music and Jeagar.
  Lead Guitarist Joel comes to the band with a Masters Degree in Classical Guitar. One of Albany’s preeminent guitar teachers, Joel can be found at The Levee Studios teaching guitar or at home carefully nurturing his latest batch of home crafted beers.
  On drums, Jeremy Dollar helps bring the band their straight ahead driving sound. Having never played anything but hard rock music before joining RDR, Jeremy is in uncharted musical waters. Showing his range and versatility, the band wouldn’t be quite the same without his hard driving beats. When he’s not playing, Jeremy spends as much time as he can with his massive dog and beautiful wife.
  Coming from a modern rock background, Mike Wilson brings a full, heavy bass sound to the group. A bit of a world traveler (growing up as a military brat will do that), Mike enjoys studying history and philosophy when he’s not working his ‘day job’ as a network administrator.
  In addition to their original songs, RDR brings a huge list of cover songs to any event. Covering artists like: Guns and Roses, Charlie Daniels, Tool, Jason Aldean, Edwin Mccain, Michael Jackson, Pearl Jam, and The Georgia Satellites, this band always brings the party when they hit the stage.
