The skinny: Recently selected to be featured on US Airways, recently ranked #1 to be featured by MTV online, consistent top 40 channel selection on various online media and streaming sites, Billboard Top #7 song writer and performer, Gold Record holder, featured on major motion picture soundtrack and video game sound track, prolific songwriter and producer. Bottom line, John L. Sullivan has the experience and goods and you'll want him attached to your project, festival, tour or agency.

For most musicians the list of achievements reads like a career wish list fulfilled; a list that would have most resting on their musical laurels as they ride off into the proverbial sunset: voted Chicago's top drummer two years running, a contract with a major label (Hollywood Records), working with legends like Joe Barresi and Rob Cavallo, achieving Gold Record sales status and a Billboard top 10 hit, and touring with some of the most popular recording artists. But for Chicago multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, and singer-songwriter John L. Sullivan, the best musical moments are yet to come.

While John was typically used to playing drums in his other bands, he felt that there was still something more to be added to the vocal performances delivered by other singers singing what John felt so deeply with his own lyrics and music. There was simply more story to tell. From that point on John decided that he would take on guitar and vocal responsibilities in order to express his music on a deeply personal level. He decided to put his own project together with musicians hand picked to deliver a live Rock N' Roll experience that is second to none.

In 2010 John L. Sullivan has turned the corner in his solo career and created music that has a fond respect for both Rock and Roll’s legendary acts (Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, and The Beatles) and forward-thinking envelope-pushers (U2 and Radiohead, Jack White) while still incorporating in John's own fresh, unique perspective that gives his music a modern, accessible and worldly appeal.

Keep your ears open in 2011 for John L. Sullivan - if you haven't already heard some of his music in soundtracks or on mainstream U.S. radio stations, it's quite certain that you will sometime soon!

  LOUDMOUTH is: Bob Feddersen: Vocals Tony McQuaid: Guitars Mike Flaherty: Bass Guitar John Sullivan: ...LOUDMOUTH is: Bob Feddersen: Vocals Tony McQuaid: Guitars Mike Flaherty: Bass Guitar John Sullivan: Drums LOUDMOUTH was a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Band that formed in Chicago, Illinois right around the time of 1992-93. Quote from Rolling Stone Magazine (April 20, 1999): Loudmouth's music is cut from the same cloth as classic, Midwestern working-class favorites like Ted Nugent and Grand Funk Railroad, a brand of straightforward, meat-and-potatoes heavy rock that hasn't exactly been fashionable for most of the Nineties. "We grew up in blue collar families," says McQuaid. "We worked very hard to do this -- everyone worked different jobs. You'd work all day, go to practice at night, grab a beer and go to bed. We did that for a long time. We're not pretentious about it. It's a gift to be able to go out and do this and give it to people, so we take it seriously." The founding members of LOUDMOUTH were: John L. Sullivan (Drummer/Songwriter) and Bob Feddersen (Singer/Songwriter). Sullivan and Feddersen both came out of the remains of a 1980's Glam Metal Band called: Vandal (who released one demo titled: "UNDER ARREST" in 1987)! Other members of VANDAL/LOUDMOUTH to mention would be (Guitarist) Dan Donegan, who played Guitar on the Vandal "Under Arrest" demo in 1987 and recorded with LOUDMOUTH on one demo tape in 1993, then soon after leaving to join the Band: DISTURBED. LOUDMOUTH originally was just called: LOUD, then around the time of 1993 they changed their name to: LOUDMOUTH, this would stick! LOUDMOUTH flipped flopped on Guitarists for short while then finally: Sullivan and Feddersen, then added the last 2 ingredients (true musicians) for the recipie for true Red Blooded Rock N' Roll, this would be: (Bass Guitarist) Mike Flaherty (Guitarist) Tony McQuaid LOUDMOUTH then released 2 independent CD's: 1/2 EP (5 songs, 1995 Moot Music) Self Titled (8 songs, 1997 Moot Music) These 2 independent CD's were catching the ears of anyone who had a taste for Kick Ass Rock N' Roll or just simply put, GOOD MUSIC! This got LOUDMOUTH signed to Hollywood Records, to have their first Major Label CD released in 1999, also having their self proclaimed rock anthem "FLY" featured on the VARSITY BLUES movie soundtrack and their music caught the ears of the likes of Metallica (Hetfield & Ulrich), while also touring with the likes of MEGADETH, GODSMACK in 1999 and then having a TOUR of their own. As we talked, Bob described Loudmouth's style as a combination of an R&B base, with technical guitar solos and vocals that you can understand and sing along with, but with the more up-tempo of today's music. With the album Loudmouth, every song on the album is a little different, from the rocking "Fly" and "Rats in the Maze," to the melodic "Turn It Off" and my favorite "Maybe" -- I love the howling, deep vocals that add so much feeling to this song; it just grabs you. You can tell a lot of hard work and perfection went into this album." Somehow, LOUDMOUTH (in my opinion) went overlooked and never got the publicity they truely deserved, sometimes I think they were too good for the RADIO and too good for MTV. One year later, a self titled demo album followed and a copy got to Metallica; they asked the band to do a show for them when they were Chicago for a concert. With Metallica talking highly of them, they were noticed and signed by Hollywood Records and released the self-titled album Loudmouth.
  
  Loudmouth's song "Fly" has been getting a lot of airplay. They just came off of the Risk tour with Megadeth. The tour was very well received and a lot of fun for them. On January 7, 2000 after a show in Minneapolis, I had a chance to sit down with Bob Fedderson, lead singer, and talk to him about the band. We talked about the music scene from the '80s and the early '90s and where we see it going today. As we talked, Bob described Loudmouth's style as a combination of an R&B base, with technical guitar solos and vocals that you can understand and sing along with, but with the more up-tempo of today's music.   Bob also describes the band as being a very Midwest band. Loudmouth has a huge following in the Chicago area and are always welcome in that city. They also have a big following in Minneapolis, too. They have played a few sold out shows at some local clubs, like Ryan's and the Quest. The night I met up with them, they had a great audience -- everyone was rocking out and asking for more. The greatest thing about Loudmouth is they like to help out the local Midwest bands by having them as opening acts. Here that night, two local bands played with them -- 2 Ton Crutch, and With. Both bands are the top bands here in Minneapolis, and they did an awesome job warming up Loudmouth. It's great to have a band like Loudmouth around. They never forget where they started out -- they are always willing to help out other local bands just starting out. So the next time they are in your town, make sure you check them out. You wont be disappointed, I promise.
