Biography
Jor’Dan Armstrong is breaking barriers and touching lives with his music and ministry. He comes equipped with a new sound for a new generation that has its own way of expressing praise. Armstrong witnesses on a daily basis how music can impact lives. His debut album, “Champion,” has proven to be doing the same.
Jor’Dan Armstrong is a 25 year old native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attends Times of Refreshing World Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Dr. Calvin N. Emery. Armstrong is an outstanding vocalist and percussionist who has been performing since the age of five. Armstrong has expanded his musical range by showcasing his vocal, production and songwriting talents on “Champion.”
“Champion” was released in November 2009 and outlines a dynamic testimony of struggle and triumph, which ultimately highlights Jesus Christ as being our definitive Champion. This album depicts everyday situations that will appeal to the saved and draw in the lost, which is the ultimate goal. “Champion” has already been listed as one of the top selling online Gospel albums on CDBaby.com and is also available on iTunes. It will be available internationally in late December 2010 through an exclusive Japanese distribution partnership with Swanky Records.
Armstrong strives to gain attention with his innovative sound and change lives with the message of salvation. People are starting to notice and bestow accolades! Jor’Dan Armstrong received the 2010 En Sound Music Award for Best Male Urban Artist, and his hit, “Drive Me Crazy,” was nominated for a 2010 En Sound Music Award for Best Urban Gospel Song. Also, KXQL named him one of the “Best Dressed Men in Baton Rouge” for 2010.
Jor’Dan Armstrong exudes creativity at its best! His “urban gospel music” sound offers a fresh perspective to many who have not been interested in gospel music before. However, his message is relevant and poignant enough to interest even the most traditional gospel music lover. Armstrong has captivated audiences nationwide with his live stage performances, which have been described as energetic and vibrant! Armstrong always utilizes every inch of a stage to maximize audience participation and to heighten excitement.
Imaginative and soulful best describes the multi-sound patchwork that makes up Armstrong’s sound. “Champion” begins with a proclamation of seeking God with the song “Where You Are,” which brings a pop appeal to worship.
