Biography
Paris Carney was born in New York City and raised bi-coastally, frequently traveling and touring between New York & Los Angeles in the earlier years of her career. Paris grew up in a family of musicians and was naturally passionate about spending her life in music. Paris attended The New School in New York City where she studied voice, however she took a leave of absence to pursue her own creative and professional endeavors. Paris toured across the country with Reeve Carney and the Revolving Band in addition to recording an album with her older brothers' former band (now Carney) at Interscope Records. Following her work with The Revolving Band, Paris began pursuing a solo career, performing at local venues in Los Angeles. In 2010, Paris captured the attention of AOL Music and was featured as a up and coming artist on their homepage. Cambio.com filmed and featured her as an emerging artist on their website and released two live performance videos of Paris singing "Spark" and "Let Me In" (an unreleased track). Paris released her debut EP "Carried Away" (produced by Reeve and Zane Carney) on Itunes in the fall of 2010 and broke into the singer/songwriter charts within the first week of it's release with the support of fans internationally. Now at the start of the new year, Paris is beginning the process of recording her first album in Los Angeles and continues to perform in the local area. Paris frequently divides her time between her own career and assisting other artists in their creative endeavors. She's recently recorded demos for major label artists at Jim Henson Studios, engaged in writing sessions, and has performed with many different musicians in Los Angeles, who she frequently features as guests at her shows. Paris continues to perform regularly in LA, playing larger shows at venues like The Roxy Theater on Sunset, The Troubadour, House of Blues (Upper Louge), and Molly Malones in addition to more intimate venues such as The Standard (Cactus Lounge), Gengis Cohen, Hotel Cafe, The Mint, Room 5, and The Tarpit on La Brea.
