Biography
The Shirts were sewn in 1998 by founding members Dana Gagliarducci and Misty Perholtz (The Newbees).
After gracing living rooms, basements, parties and open mics all over the tri-state for years, they happened upon kindred-spirit and bilingual songstress Mindy Wise.
Once Dana, Mindy and Misty starting singing and playing together, they realized a common thread in their writing styles; a Latin influence.
Together with renowned trumpet player, Eric Tepe (For Algernon, Bright Orange Robot), and keyboard phenomenon Sharon Udoh (Tarvis, Beau Alquizola), the Shirts rounded out their sound.
Rapidly switching between guitar, bass, mandolin, trumpet and percussion keeps the energy high on stage.
The music is either written alone by any one of the Shirts or together, and always features their memorable 4-part harmonies.
With such a unique lineup of musicians, The Shirts show just how much folk can rock.
