Biography

The Mercury Stars is an unlikely blend of influences and styles that shouldn't make sense, but do. Sonic explorations result in songs sounding something like Grand Lee Buffalo's melodiousness with a touch of dark Euro-pop a la The Cure or Echo & The Bunnymen. Guitar pedals bend and distort, bass and drums push and shove, Wurli-Juno textures drape - all pulsing beneath bittersweet lyrics, creating songs that are a dream-like tapestry of sound.
