Biography
James Gentry studied at Berklee College of Music as a performance major four (4) year professional certificate. Has led his own band in around the state of California and the five western regional states. This band www.jgtsb.com is a sextet ( Piano, Bass, Drums, perc, Sax, vocals) with a Latin twist on many of your favorite vocal covers ( Evil Ways, Unchain My heart and Com'in Home baby.) along with Many of my originals and standard material as well. Many of my original have interesting Harmonic changes and Melodic concepts. Influences Coltrane, Corea, Joe Henderson and many, many more. What really sets us apart from many bands are the sassy Latin- jazz recordings. Our band is a Latin jazz band /RB Cover vocal ( sextet) . Our band will play many of you favorite tunes with a latin twist complete with vocals.
