Award winning Songwriter and performer Paul Edelman-The jangling Sparrow, fronts his red hot rock trio, Pick Your Switch!
Already being acclaimed by fans and peers throughout the region for their raw and explosive live shows.
Elzy Lindsey (drums) and Dave Baker (bass and harmonies), were one of the most sought after Indie rock rhythm sections in New Orleans, playing together in many of the hottest acts in town since they were teenagers. By the time they relocated to Asheville, they'd been playing together for nearly 20 years.
Edelman, originally from Philadelphia, left as one of the most respected artists in his genre. Paul has shared the stage with some of Americana's biggest acts including The BottleRockets, James McMurtry, Robert Earl Kean, Niko Case, Big Sandy, The Sadies , Slim Cessna, Scott Miller among many others . He has worked with music legends like Jimmy Johnson, founder of Muscle Shoals studio, Nashville session staple drummer Martin Parker (Rickky Skaggs, Patti Loveless) and keyboardist Steve Fordham (Mavis Staples). Upon moving to North Carolina he grabbed winner of the 2009 Flat Rock Music Festival songwriter competition. Now he brings his award winning, lyrically driven song crafting and journeyman performances to a ferocious Telecaster.
It's said that Asheville is a land of harmonic convergence and Pick Your Switch might be proof that it's true.

Edelman never goes for the easy or expected hook. He takes risks with chord changes reminiscent of some of Patterson Hood’s more unexpected turns in otherwise sonically conventional tunes. He also has the capacity to go broad and catchy, sounding a bit like the illegitimate lovechild of John Prine and Jay Farrar standing in for Ryan Adams.."

This is the soundtrack to chilly winter nights huddled in steamy bars; or long drives in a muscle car, the road partially obscured by frosty windows. Hints of Springsteen …are balanced with Edelman’s original sound; an imperfect but comfortable voice and addictive, narrative songs"
