Dub Trinity's songs blend the styles of Burning Spear, Woody Guthrie and Linton Kwesi Johnson while their music fuses roots dub-reggae and ska with Meters-style funk, with a dash of Fela Kuti's afrobeat and picket line solidarity. The project's relationship with political issues has led to collaborations with various community and human rights-based organizations as well as invitations to play a wide variety of festivals, conferences, forums and fund-raisers.
Dub Trinity have had a long standing relationship with poets - slam poets, dub poets and otherwise. Many Dub Trinity concerts will feature a poet or two that will perform their own set and join the band for a few songs. This creates an exciting dynamic that is further engaging for those in attendance. Poets who have collaborated with Dub Trinity include Chet Singh, d'bi young, Afua Cooper, Ritallin, Dwayne Morgan, various members of the Toronto Dub Poets Collective, Oni the Haitian Sensation, Moe Clark, Truth Is...to name a few.
