Artist Information
Biography
If you've watched any amount of television in the past few years, you're more than likely to have heard Beware Fashionable Women. BFW tracks have found themselves placed on programming such as MTV's The Real World, The History Channel's American Pickers, Bravo's Flipping Out, and many more.
The band was named one of Music Connection Magazine's Top 25 Unsigned Artists and Top 25 Bands by Indie-Music.com. The music video for "I'll Be The DJ" is distributed via mobile devices by Versaly Entertainment and jukeboxes in the UK by Soundnet. The video has aired on CBS, NBC, and Fox affiliates in the US via Music Mix USA and Lava TV in the UK.
Even with all this, the band has had time for some extra-curricular activities. BFW's Barak Shpiez helped Rivers Cuomo of Weezer produce two songs for his yet-to-be-released solo album. The band has been invited to perform at several festivals and conferences, including the Baltimore Music Conference, The Orion Music Festival in Utah, and the Richmond Music Conference in Virginia.
With all that generated from just one album, the band is ready to release it's second effort, Bird Park. Maintaining an ethos of eclecticism, the album explores new territories like dance and country while expanding upon rock, punk, and pop. Fans will still recognize of course the band's trademark thoughtful lyrics, catchy melodies, and lush vocal harmonies in every track.
