The Emporiums is a new musical pairing of acclaimed songwriters Karla Adolphe and Aaron Strumpel and was birthed during numerous hours on stage and in studio together. In the cold late night hours 3 days in December, Karla and Aaron tapped into the magic that collaboration can create and the outcome was a fruitful mash up of ideas, characters and songs. The Singing Well is an album crafted rather than recorded; rootsy, Americana tones pervade the album which includes throw backs to deep South gospel traditions and special attention to integrative, gorgeous harmonies. Songs like Old Hickory, The Singing Well, Lucy, Pushing the Beams and Pennies and Paper stand out as talisman along the winding journey The Emporiums have created.

Karla Adolphe is well known in Canada for her work in the folk roots duo Jacob and Lily, as well as her installment of Enter the Worship Circle’s 3rd Chair and Mic album. Aaron Strumpel is a genre-bending producer/artist best known for his highly creative Elephants album, and his installment of Enter the Worship Circle’s 2nd Chair and Mic album. Combined, these two artists pull from a deep well of artistry and creativity, tempered by a number of years on the road engaging fans and making friends; mature at their craft The Emporiums are a delight.

The Singing Well is an album crafted rather than recorded; all the songs were commissioned and co written for the album.
